Madam Le Brun, was a Paris born artist with both Rococo and Neoclassical influences who was fortunate enough to become portrait painter to Marie Antoinette.
In 1783, Élisabeth Louise Vigée Le Brun was accepted as a member of the Académie royale de peinture et de sculpture. She was one of only 15 women to be granted full membership in the Académie between 1648 and 1793.
